How long does treatment last?
The duration of treatment largely depends on the nature and complexity of the problem being addressed. After our initial consultation and intake sessions I like to present my clients with a clear treatment plan with established goals and a tentative time frame for meeting those goals. We will periodically check on the progress made towards reaching those goals, and evaluate if the original time frame needs to be shortened or lengthened.

I am a firm believer that good therapy should foster independence: I am doing my job right when my clients feel they no longer need my support. Therefore, I favor time-limited treatments.
I wanted to schedule a consultation but there is no availability.
What are my options?
Unfortunately, due to my ongoing projects, I am currently only able to see clients in a limited capacity. Still, I understand that finding a therapist that feels right for you can be daunting and costly (in both time and money). This is particularly true for specialized treatment.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Given the small size of my practice, I am unfortunately not currently able to provide discounted fees for the majority of my clients. Still, I believe all mental healthcare providers should make an effort to address the inequalities surrounding access to care. To this end, I keep a small waitlist for clients with non-urgent mental health concerns who require a lower fee.
Please note that for this list I will mainly prioritize clients specifically seeking my specialized services: Spanish-language treatment for trauma and migration related issues. If this is not the service you are seeking, I encourage you to continue inquiring after other provider’s sliding scale rates.
